Mumbai Indians are set to appear in their final IPL 2024 encounter as they take on struggling Lucknow Super Giants on May 15 in front of their beloved Mumbai crowd at Wankhede Stadium. The Hardik Pandya-led side is already out of the competition and will aim to spoil Lucknow’s chances of playoff qualification.
Under the new leadership of Hardik Pandya, the five-time champions looked crestfallen, as they managed to finish on top in just four matches out of 13 league stage fixtures they have played so far. The poor outings from their star batter Rohit Sharma in the second half also foiled their chances along with Hardik Pandya also struggling.
For KL Rahul-captained LSG, their qualification chances are slim with the Lucknow-based franchise tottering at seventh position in the points table after losing seven out of 13 games. Their recent run of three consecutive defeats has also hampered their case for a top-four finish this season.
