The number one T20I batter Suryakumar Yadav showcased his class as completed his second IPL century to help Mumbai Indians defeat the Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets. With this victory, MI ended their four-game losing streak and remained alive in the Playoff race despite being ninth on the points table.

Talking about the game, Hardik Pandya won the toss and elected to bowl first. Justifying this call, MI bowlers put in an incredible performance as they kept taking wickets at regular intervals. Despite a few no-balls and missed catches, Mumbai was on top and reduced the roaring SRH to 96-5 and then 127-7. But a late flurry from captain Pat Cummins took the Hyderabad total to 173.

For MI, Hardik Pandya and Piyush Chawla were the pick of the bowlers as each of them picked up three wickets to keep Hyderabad quiet. Then in the second innings, Mumbai had a sluggish start as they lost three quick wickets and were reduced to 31-3 in 4.1 overs when Tilak Varma joined Suryakumar Yadav in the middle.

From this point forward, the SKY-Tilak duo carried Mumbai out of trouble by adding a massive partnership of 143 runs to clinch the game. Varma added 37 in 32 balls with six boundaries while Yadav top-scored with a brilliant 102 in 51 balls with 12 fours and six sixes.
