Triple H revealed last month that he was retiring from WWE after his recent health issues came to light. However, Triple H made a surprise appearance on WrestleMania 38's second night as he returned to WWE TV to kick off WrestleMania 38 Night Two.

Apart from his appearance at NXT Stand & Deliver on April 2, Triple H hadn’t appeared on WWE programming since his cardiac event in September 2021. As “The Game” had recently announced his in-ring retirement,  the live crowd welcomed Triple H with open arms. The former WWE champion had explained that due to his heart issues which he experienced last year, he would not be able to wrestle again. The announcement was made on ESPN.

"The King of Kings” kicked off WrestleMania Sunday by making his retirement official when he asked if the WWE Universe was ready before exiting and leaving his boots behind. HHH was seen reciprocating the energy from the crowd and he was also seen hugging his three daughters and other family members at ringside.

After leaving his boots in the ring, a retirement tradition, Triple H thanked fans for their support with a quick promo, before introducing the opening pyro. The promo was very emotional, and Triple H opened up on how he thought he was going to die in 2021.

Triple H also appeared during NXT Stand & Deliver yesterday, which was his first appearance on a WWE show since January 2021. He shared an emotional moment with Tommaso Ciampa on the show.
