In the IPL 2024 points table, KKR took the pole position with nine wins in 12 games followed by RR at the second spot with 8 wins in 11 matches.

Due to the consistent rain on Saturday at the Eden Gardens, the match between KKR and MI was reduced to 16 overs and the home side registered 157 runs on the board at a loss of seven wickets as Venkatesh Iyer (42 off 21), Nitish Rana (33 off 23), and Andre Russell (24 off 14) carried their side's innings after early wickets. During the chase, Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma gave a decent start to their side, however, MI lost five wickets in the space of 27 runs. Despite Tilak Varma and Naman Dhir's big-hitting, KKR clinched the victory by 18 runs as Varun Chakravarthy was named the Player of the Match.

The Gujarat Titans (GT) have been handed a massive blow with their fast bowler Sushant Mishra missing the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The Delhi Capitals (DC) have been dealt with a major blow with their skipper, Rishabh Pant being handed a one-match ban ahead of their crucial IPL 2024 match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Pant has been handed a one-match ban and a fine worth INR 30 Lakh after his team maintained a slow over-rate in their home match against Rajasthan Royals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. It was  DC’s third offence for maintaining a slow over-rate this season, hence Pant has been banned for a game.

Shubman Gill fined INR 24 Lakh for maintaining slow over-rate against CSK

Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill has been penalised after his team maintained a slow over-rate during Match 59 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday, May 10.  Notably, it was the GT skipper’s second offence of the season and thus Gill has been fined INR 24 Lakh along with other members of the Playing XI, including the Impact Player also being issued a fine of either INR 6 Lakh or 25 per cent of the match fee, whichever is less.
