Team India took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series against the West Indies after winning the second match by two wickets. Indian all-rounder Axar Patel was the star for Team India as his half century helped India chase down 312.
After the match winning performance, Axar Patel received praise from Indian skipper Rohit Sharma on Monday. Rohit took to Twitter and praised Axar in Gujarati.
He wrote, "Woah ? that was some performance from team India last night. Bapu badhu Saru che @akshar2026 @bcci."
Axar Patel responded to Rohit's tweet and wrote back in Gujarati. "Badhu saru che rohit bhai ? thanks.. cheers ?", Axar replied.
Earlier, batting first, Windies put up a target of 312 runs as Shardul Thakur took three wickets and Axar Patel, Deepak Hooda, and Yuzvendra Chahal took one wicket each. Indian batters including Shreyas Iyer, Sanju Samson, and Axar Patel scored half centuries to chase the target with two balls left.
Team India will now face West Indies for the third ODI at the Queen's Park Oval Port of Spain in Trinidad on July 27.
