The Champions Trophy is a prestigious international cricket tournament organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Known as the “Mini World Cup,” it features the top eight teams as per the ICC rankings competing in a high-stakes, fast-paced format.
First held in 1998, the Champions Trophy was designed to bring elite teams together for a shorter tournament compared to the ICC Cricket World Cup. In 2025, with the Champions Trophy marking its return since 2017, the matches will be played in the One-Day International (ODI) format, with teams competing in a group stage, followed by knockouts.
