In a significant development, Cricket West Indies in mutual coordination with the Board of Control for Cricket in India has confirmed that the third T20I between West Indies and Team India will start 1.5 hours after the scheduled start. This means the game will now commence at 09:30 pm as per the Indian Standard Time (IST).
"Cricket West Indies (CWI) confirmed a revised start time of 12pm (11 am Jamaica/9:30 pm India) for the third match between West Indies and India in the Goldmedal T20I Cup at Warner Park in St Kitts on Tuesday 2nd August," read an official statement released by CWI.
Earlier, the second T20 international saw a delay of three hours at Warner Park in St Kitts because of the late delivery of the luggage. The CWI further informed that both the teams agreed to start the third T20I at a later time to ensure that the players receive adequate rest and recovery time for the back-to-back matches in St. Kitts and in consideration of the back-to-to matches to come in Florida.
The luggage delay had first held up the second T20I by a couple of hours, as the process to deliver the luggage got more delayed the West Indies board further extended the scheduled time by one hour more and it eventually began at 11 PM IST.
Speaking of 2nd T20I, West Indies stormed back to winning ways by delivering clinical performance in the second game of the five-match T20I series. The host clinched a 5-wicket win over the Men in Blue as pacer Obed McCoy picked six wickets in the 1st innings and restricted India to 138. India managed to take the match to the last over but the hosts chased the target down, with four deliveries remaining.
