India's under-19 world cup winning captain - Unmukt Chand - has notably retired from Indian cricket on Friday. The 28-year-old posted an emotional tweet on social media, thanking BCCI and DDCA for their support throughout his career. The talented right-handed batsman was once touted to be the next big thing in Indian cricketer but his career never really took off.
Chand played 48 first-class matches and scored 2690 runs at an average of 35.39. He also played 79 List A matches in his domestic career. The batsman also played 21 IPL games.
It is being reported that the next chapter of his life will be in US, where he is planning to shift and continue his playing career. It is definitely quite a sad ending for one of the most talented players in the country.
