After restricting Delhi Capitals to 159/7, PBKS could not handle the pressure and lost the game eventually by 17 runs. None of the Punjab batters (except Jitesh Sharma) looked threatening as they surrendered to DC bowlers.

Meanwhile, for Delhi Capitals, bowlers saved the day with some magical bowling in the middle. While Anrich Nortje and Shardul Thakur set the tone with the wickets of Jonny Bairstow, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, and Shikhar Dhawan, it was the spin duo of Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav who did the damage in the middle overs. Both bowlers took two wickets and conceded 14 runs.

Shardul Thakur was the best bowler for DC with his four-wicket haul. The right-arm quick took the crucial wickets of Rajapaksa, Dhawan, Jitesh Sharma, and Kagiso Rabada. He almost got a 5-fer but Warner dropped a sitter in the last over.
