The Pro Kabaddi league has been immensely popular since its inauguration in 2014. The first edition of the tournament was played between eight teams. Jaipur Pink Panther emerged as first-ever champions of the PKL. However, four new teams were added in the fifth edition in 2017. Since then Pro Kabaddi League is played among 12 teams every year.  The most successful team of Pro Kabaddi League is Patna Pirates who have won the title three times.
