Veteran India spinner Piyush Chawla indirectly took a dig at Sameer Rizvi accusing young Chennai Super Kings batter Sameer Rizvi of age fraud. Rizvi has emerged as one of the most exciting young talents in Indian cricket. The batter has made a big name for himself in domestic cricket due to his hitting capability and has come up with some of the most exciting knocks for his team.
Rizvi, who was acquired by Chennai Super Kings in the last season of the Indian Premier League and paid a hefty sum for the cricketer. Rizvi came up with a decent performance in the league in the limited opportunities that he got. Not only this, but he also made a great impact in the Uttar Pradesh Premier League, where he represented Kanpur Superstars. In the tournament, he ended up being the top run-getters with over 250 runs.
Piyush Chawla indirectly accuses Sameer Rizvi of age fraud
Recently, Chawla appeared on Shubhankar Mishra’s show, where he indirectly took a dig at the CSK member for his age. Rizvi had attended the podcast before Chawla, where he revealed that Indian captain Rohit Sharma is his inspiration. The journalist then told Chawla about the batter’s inspiration and said that a youngster takes inspiration from Rohit Sharma.
However, just when Mishra mentioned Rizvi’s age, Chawla came up with a cheeky response and indirectly accused him of age fraud. Chawla told Mishra, “21 saal ka hai woh? (Is he 21 years old?)” Not only this, but Chawla also shared an interesting anecdote about Rohit Sharma while sharing how he remains involved as a captain even off the field.
Chawla revealed, “I’ve played so much cricket with him that we’ve reached a comfort level. Once, at 2:30 in the night, he texted me and asked, ‘You up?’ He drew a field on paper and discussed with me about dismissing Warner. Even at that time, he was thinking about how he could get the best out of me.”
