The Chicago Street Race is expected to be one of the more intriguing races on the NASCAR schedule this year, so it's not surprising that 23XI Racing is putting everything on the line for it. In advance of the race this weekend, the team announced the paint design for its No. 45 vehicle on Tuesday. The vehicle, which will be piloted by Tyler Reddick, has a purple-orange fading base with a side view of the Chicago Skyline.
The car will pay homage to one of the greatest athletes on the planet, Michael Jordan. It has a Jordan-styled paint job due to the basketballer’s close connection with the city of Chicago, where the street race will be held. The custom look of the car was revealed on Tuesday via the social media handle of 23XI Racing
"Honestly. McDonald’s is headquartered there, here in the United States. It’s a big race for a lot of big brands that are a part of 23XI. So going there and running well is going to be very important for 23XI, for sure," said Tyler Reddick.
The team is also hosting "Bubba's Block Party" on Wednesday at the DuSable Black History Museum and Education Centre in Chicago, which will be headlined by Jordan and Bubba Wallace. Lupe Fiasco, a rapper from Chicago best known for his top 10 singles "Superstar" and "The Show Goes On," will perform live at the event. The Chicago Street Race will mark the first street race in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series history.
