Thomas Tuchel is set to leave Bayern Munich by the end of the season after a disappointing trophyless campaign. Under Tuchel's guidance, the side faced their third defeat in a row as they went down to Bochum 3-2. Earlier, they were beaten 1-0 at Lazio in the first leg of the Champions League last-16 tie. Bayern have been facing a trophyless season for the first time in 12 years and they first planned to reach the end of the campaign with Tuchel and act according to the situation. However, the side announced that the former Chelsea boss manager will bid adieu to the club at the end of the season.

As the announcement came, the club started its search for a new coach, and in this article, we will have a look at the top three potential names that can lead the side in the future.

Who can replace Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich?

Xabi Alonso

Bayer Leverkusen head coach Xabi Alonso would be the first choice that Bayern would want to chase to replace Tuchel. Having played for the club earlier, the 42-year-old is the outright favourite to take over the role at Bayern. However, Munich would have to face it off with Liverpool, who are also front runners in signing Alonso as Jurgen Klopp's replacement.

The Spaniard has had an impressive season thus far, and his side recently took down Bayern 3-0.  Alonso worked under Guardiola and Ancelotti, and his recent heroics at Leverkusen make him the bookmakers' favourite to succeed Tuchel.
