The ODI World Cup 2023 final talks are finally becoming a thing of the past as cricket fans have already started looking forward to the IPL 2024. A few days ago Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc said that he would participate in the IPL 2024 auction. As Starc last played IPL in the year 2014-15 for Royal Challengers Bangalore, his participation would put an end to the eight-year-long wait for his fans. The Aussie snapped a total of 34 wickets in 27 IPL games for the Bengaluru-based franchise in two seasons.
Now that he is set to play the cash-rich league in 2024, several eyes will be on him and top franchises are likely to engage in a bidding war to acquire the services of the Australian fast bowler.
Here are three teams that look forward to purchasing Starc in the IPL 2024 auction.
Mumbai Indians
As Mumbai Indians have parted ways with English cricketer Jofra Archer, they would surely look forward to having someone who can provide them with the same services. Jofra had played only five matches for his IPL side in the past two seasons. Starc is similar to Archer, a deadly fast bowler and a quick wicket-taker in all overs. While fans would miss the pair of Bumrah and Archer, they will surely love the Starc-Bumrah duo snapping wickets at the Wankhede.
