The Indian Premier League franchises submitted their retention lists on Sunday, November 26, and released several players before the much-awaited mini-auction for the 2024 season. While the teams went on to retain their key players, they also released a few impactful players from the squads.
The five-time champions, Chennai Super Kings, also went on to release a few players, while English cricketer Ben Stokes opted out of the tournament. The Yellow Army has a few slots left and hence, here are a few players they will target in the auction on December 19.
Manish Pandey
Manish Pandey is one of the sole experienced Indian batters available for the 2024 season of the tournament. Pandey will be a good replacement for Ambati Rayudu and the Yellow Army would be beneficial by including him. Not only this but as Pandey is known as one of the best players against spin, MS Dhoni might include him in the playing XI in a few matches. In addition, being a part of the five-time champion squad might also prove to be a turning point for the cricketer as he would be able to take guidance from the former India cricketer.
