Virat Kohli, who has etched some historic feats with the bat in IPL, has also registered some interesting figures while bowling in the league. In his 17-year stint in the IPL, Kohli has picked up four wickets. In 2008 season, Kohli bowled 3.4 overs and recorded figures of 2/25 for RCB. In IPL 2011, he claimed a wicket each against CSK and Kochi Tuskers Kerala.
MI have used 4 overseas players to captain their franchise in IPL history
In the history of IPL, five-time champions, Mumbai Indians have used four overseas players as captains. Shaun Pollock (4 matches in 2008), Dwayne Bravo (a match in 2010), Ricky Ponting (6 matches in 2013) and Kieron Pollard (2019-2021) have captained the side in the absence of Indian skippers. However, majority of their matches have been led by Sachin Tendulkar, Harbhajan Singh, Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya.
Ruturaj Gaikwad, Riyan Parag and Travis Head registered 4 50-plus scores in IPL 2024
Speaking of the previous season, CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad, along with Riyan Parag and Australian hard-hitter Travis Head scored four fifty-plus scores. Notably, all three of them were also the top run-getters for their respective IPL franchises. Apart from them, KL Rahul, Heinrich Klaasen, Faf du Plessis and Phil Salt also registered four-fifty plus scores in IPL 2024.
