But, after the tough loss in the previous match for LSG against SRH, the owner Sanjiv Goenka was spotted having an animated chat with KL Rahul in front of everyone at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, sparking rumours about what the future holds for him at the franchise.
Although the Lucknow Super Giants spokesperson clarified that KL Rahul will stay the captain of the team for the remainder of the season, there is no certainty about whether he will play for them in the IPL next year.
