As the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction draws nearer, the perennial discussion among the cricketing fraternity about the Pakistan players, who could have pulled major money deals in, is back again. It is a well-known fact that Pakistan players are not allowed to put their names in the IPL auction because of the strained political relationship between India and Pakistan.

Notably, the cricketers from Pakistan have taken part in the inaugural season of the IPL in 2008, wherein the likes of Sohail Tanvir and Kamran Akmal lifted the trophy for Rajasthan Royals. Some of the other top players from Pakistan who made an appearance in the tournament were Shahid Afridi, Mishbah-ul-Haq, Shoaib Akhtar, Shoaib Malik, and Umar Gul.
