IPL 2025 is just 11 days away and some teams will be concerned as their key stalwarts are yet to recover from injuries. These players couldn’t show up for their national sides in the Champions Trophy 2025, held in Pakistan and Dubai and their injuries now might hamper their chances of making it to the colossal event in India as well. Ahead of witnessing scintillating T20 action, fans can go through SportsTiger’s list of five players who might not mark their presence in IPL 2025.

Here are five players who are doubtful for IPL 2025

5. Jacob Bethell (RCB)

England’s young batter Jacob Bethell bagged INR 2.6 Crore deal in the 2025 auction and became part of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for the mega T20 event. However, he may not find himself in the position to fulfill his IPL commitment as he is struggling to recover from his unfortunate hamstring injury, which neutralised his chances of serving England in the Champions Trophy 2025.

4. Mayank Yadav (LSG)

Mayank Yadav, who grabbed a lot of eyeballs for his exceptional performance for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) last year, hasn’t played any competitive game since October 2024. The pacer sustained a lumbar stress injury during India’s home series against Bangladesh. Following that, he underwent rehabilitation at the BCCI's Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru but couldn’t recover fully. LSG will expect their young gun to join the set-up but the 21-year-old will look to gain complete fitness to serve the side as any negligence might put his professional career in danger.

3. Lockie Ferguson (PBKS)

New Zealand speedster Lockie Ferguson was signed up at his base amount of INR 2 Crore by Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the auction, held in November 2024. The Kiwi stalwart suffered a hamstring injury while playing for Desert Vipers during ILT20 2024-25. Later, he joined New Zealand for the Champions Trophy 2025 but sustained another injury during the warm-up game against Afghanistan. Noting the current scenario, Ferguson’s absence from IPL 2025 can’t be ruled out.

2. Mitchell Marsh (LSG)

Mitchell Marsh remained absent from Australia’s Champions Trophy 2025 squad due to his back issue and the veteran all-rounder may not join LSG as well for IPL 2025.  At the 2025 auction held in Jeddah, Lucknow splurged INR 3.4 Crore to reserve his services for the upcoming tournament.

1. Josh Hazlewood (RCB)

Australia mainstay pacer Josh Hazlewood, who is expected to reunite with RCB again after two years, might not be seen in the upcoming T20 competition as he is yet to recover from his hip injury, which he picked up against India during the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 played in Brisbane.
