Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the five-time IPL champions, are captained by Ruturaj Gaikwad, who is one of the most talented batters in the country in the modern times. While the responsibility of captaincy didn’t quite work to his liking in the IPL last year, the Indian international will be looking to lead from the front in the 2025 season, which could help propel the team to better results this year.

Ruturaj Gaikwad
Ruturaj Gaikwad, the right-handed batter, has scored more than 550 runs in three of the last five seasons for CSK in the IPL, showcasing insane consistency with the bat at the top of the order. The 28-year-old has been a rock for CSK in the batting side of things after debuting in the competition in 2021, accumulating 2380 runs in 66 matches at an average of 41.75 and a strike-rate of 136.86 with two hundreds and 18 fifties.
Rachin Ravindra
New Zealand cricketer Rachin Ravindra, 25, is in the form of his life in all formats of the game over the past couple of years despite the fact that he wasn’t able to make a telling impact with CSK in the IPL in his first season. The left-handed batter scored 222 runs in 10 matches last year, and he will be aiming to have a far better season during the IPL 2025, which could be a catalyst to the sixth league title for the franchise.
Shivam Dube
Shivam Dube, 31, joined CSK ahead of the IPL 2022 season, and since then, he was able to improve his batting by leaps and bounds, which allowed him to make India comeback after quite some time. Ravindra Jadeja
Ravindra Jadeja’s batting prowess is quite underrated in T20 cricket as he has never crossed the 300-run mark in any of the IPL seasons he has been a part of, with CSK or Rajasthan Royals (RR). In the 2024 season, the left-handed batter scored 267 runs at an average of 44.50 and a strike-rate of 142.78, but it wasn’t enough for CSK to reach the playoffs, and meanwhile, his bowling skills have gone up a notch in the T20 league.
