Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be chasing their sixth title in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The Men in Yellow have won five trophies after appearing in the 16 editions of the cash-rich league and are the most successful side along with their arch-rivals Mumbai Indians (MI). Sam Curran
England bowling all-rounder Sam Curran will be seen in CSK’s jersey again after four years. He will be expected to utilise his experience and support Matheesha Pathirana to bolster Chennai’s fast-bowling unit. Following the IPL 2025 auction, he featured in the ILT20 2024-25 and clinched seven wickets in 13 matches for Desert Vipers.
Noor Ahmad
CSK invested INR 10 crore in the auction to reserve the services of Afghanistan left-arm spinner Noor Ahmad, who played for Gujarat Titans (GT) in the last two seasons. The young Afghan has shown he can do wonders with the ball for Chennai on Chepauk's spin-friend turf. In the SA20 League 2024-25, he exuded confidence with the ball for Durban’s Super Giants (DSG). Appearing in 10 matches, he grabbed 13 wickets at an economy of 6.90 and ended up as the leading wicket-taker for DSG.
Matheesha Pathirana
Sri Lanka pacer Matheesha Pathirana will look to deliver scintillating numbers to CSK again in 2025. In the last couple of seasons, he did a fabulous job with the ball for Chennai as he not only bowled wicket-taking spells, but also frugal ones as well.
Ravindra Jadeja
Ravindra Jadeja has played a lot of cricket for Chennai and he will look to be at his best again to strengthen the spin department of the side. The veteran did a superb job for India in the Champions Trophy 2025, scalping five wickets in five games at a thrifty economy of 4.35.
Ravichandran Ashwin
Ravichandran Ashwin will represent CSK again after 10 years, and his responsibility is going to be to lead the team’s spin attack with his former Team India colleague Jadeja. Chennai will be expecting extraordinary numbers from the veteran on Chennai’s pitch as the 38-year-old has grown his professional cricketing career while playing at this venue.
