The 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) saw Chennai Super Kings win the title for the fifth time, equalling their arch-rivals Mumbai Indians. On the night of the final, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Chennai Super Kings got the better of Gujarat Titans by five wickets on the DLS method.

The captain of Kolkata Knight Riders, Shreyas Iyer, didn’t play the last season of the IPL due to a back injury suffered before the franchise tournament commenced. After undergoing back surgery, he successfully recovered to have a fantastic ODI World Cup 2023, and soon after, he was retained by KKR for the IPL 2024 season.
