The first T20I of the five-match series between India and Australia has started with a bang for the wicket-keeper batter Josh Inglis, who smashed Prasidh Krishna for 19 runs in an over at the ACA-VDCA International Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Thursday, November 23. For the unversed, Suryakumar Yadav, the new India captain, won the toss earlier in the evening, putting the Australians into batting first on a placid batting pitch. In the 8th over of the innings, he hit Prasidh Krishna for three fours and one six before taking the single off the last ball. It led to a plethora of negative reactions for the Indian fast bowler on the social media platform X, some of which are as under:

As of this writing, Australia are 83/1 in 10 overs, with Josh Inglis on 44 off 23, while Steve Smith, who had opened the innings, on 23 off 23. They will be looking to put  up a total in excess of 180 to be competitive on the night against a powerful batting lineup of India.
