The ODI World Cup 2023 culminated in India with Australia lifting their sixth World Champions title with a win over India by six wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. While neither a batter or bowler finished as the highest wicket-taker or leading run-scorer, Adam Zampa finished as the second highest wicket-taker with 23 scalps.

However, days after the curtains were called off for the CWC 2023, former Australia captain, Michael Clark had expressed concerns about Australia's performance on the subcontinent pitches following defeats against India and South Africa at the start of the CWC 2023. “If we are not careful, the conversation we have been having about the Wallabies the last three weeks we will be having about the Australian cricket team in two weeks’ time,” Clarke said.

After Clarke’s comments, leg-spinner Adam Zampa has not hit back at the Test skipper. “If we are getting shown up like that again s t South Africa, the spin subcontinent teams, we will be laughable. If we are not careful, the conversation we have been having about the Wallabies the last 3 weeks, we will be having about the Australian cricket team in two week’s time. We should have turned up to India in our prime,” Zampa wrote.

With this post, the maestro spinner highlighted the team’s performance and silence the critics. He completed 23 wickets at the economy of 5.36 and an average of 22.39 in 11 matches at the CWC 2023.
