AFC Asian Cup 2023 is set to take place in January 2024 and its final draws will take place on Thursday, May 11 at the Katara Opera House, Doha. The top 24 ranked teams across Asia will compete in this prestigious tournament. The teams are currently divided into four Pots of six each in accordance with the latest FIFA Rankings. At the final draws, the teams will be drawn into six groups of four each from Groups A to F. The teams who qualify from the second qualification round will be reassigned to Pot 1 & Pot 2, while the exact pot will be decided on the basis of FIFA Rankings.
After the success of the FIFA World Cup 2022, Qatar will host another major tournament in the AFC Asian Cup 2023, spanning across five host cities in the nation. The host cities include Lusail, Al Khor, Al Rayyan, Doha, and Al Wakhrah. It is the seventh time that the AFC Asian Cup will be played in the West Zone.
