The fiercest rivalry between England and Australia approached its last stage with Australia batters David Warner and Usman Khwaja giving their team an ideal opening as they chased a 384-run target on Day 4 of the final Ashes Test. The Baggy Greens managed to add 75 runs to the scorecard before lunch after England's innings came to an end after the Three Lions closed their innings at 395 runs. However, what caught everyone’s eyes as England Skipper Ben Stokes was spotted rearranging bails during Australia’s innings on Day 4.

Earlier on Day 2 of the Test, English bowler Stuart Broad was also seen rearranging bails, which led to the dismissal of Marnus Labuschagne on the very next ball. The English skipper tried the same technique on Day four of the last Ashes 2023 Test; however, nothing seemed to work in England's favour.

The day saw rain playing a spoilsport at the Kennington Oval, forcing the England team to group and think of something that would break Khawaja-Warner's partnership. By the end of the 37th over, the Aussie cricketers managed to come up with an unbeaten partnership of 134 runs, with both David Warner and Usman Khawaja notching up their half centuries.
