South Africa captain Aiden Markram tied a knot with his long-time girlfriend on Saturday. Markram and his wife Nicole, have been together for almost a decade now, and recently commemorated the relationship by tying the knot. The newlyweds were accompanied by close friends and family members for the wedding ceremony which took place at the Monate Game Lodge in South Africa.
The couple got engaged on June 25, 2022, in Skukuza last year, when the cricketer went down on the knee and asked for her permission to get married. Nicole had shared that news with fans on Instagram with a post which had a caption reading, “25.06.22 - 10 Years & A Thousand More. 🤍💍”
The news of the marriage was also posted by the couple on Instagram on Saturday, with a simple caption, which said, ”Mr & Mrs.” The post included an image taken during the couple’s marriage ceremony.
Talking about Markram, he is currently the captain of the Proteas in the T20I format. He also led the Sunrisers Eastern Cape to their maiden SA20 title in February, earlier this year. Due to this win, he was rewarded by his IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad and was named as the captain for the 2023 season. Although, the move didn't work, as the team finished at the bottom of the points table.
However, South Africa is slated to play Australia from August 30 in a white-ball series, which consists of three T20Is and five ODIs in preparation for the ODI World Cup in India.
