Clifford Miranda, the head coach of the Indian U-23 team, has announced a 23-member squad for the upcoming AFC U23 Asian Cup 2024 Qualifiers to be held in Dallan, China, between September 6 and 12, 2023. The tournament will be held from April 15 to May 3, 2024, in Qatar, and India is seeking its maiden qualification for the grand event.

The squad announcement was delayed because the majority of the ISL Clubs were not ready to release their young guns for more than a month for national duty. The clubs were reluctant to let go of their young superstars because the 2023-24 Indian Super League (ISL) season is coming up at the same time as the qualifiers.
The U23 Asian Cup, which will take place in Qatar in 2024, will be used to qualify teams for the men's football competition at the Paris Olympics in 2024. The four best runner-up teams from each group, along with the eleven group winners, will compete in the Asian Cup. India will face the Maldives (September 6), China (September 9), and the United Arab Emirates (September 12) in Group G.
