In a big update, Indian Test batter Ajinkya Rahane is back in the news after his match-winning knock for Chennai Super Kings in ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). If reports are to be believed, selectors along with Head Coach Rahul Dravid will soon gather to chalk out the World Test Championship Final plan.
The Indian head coach and the coaching staff is reportedly set to assemble at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to chalk out the blueprint on April 11 (Tuesday). With workload management and injury concerns in the side ahead of the WTC Final, it will be seen who will get into the 15-member squad.
“Dravid along with batting coach Vikram Rathour, bowling coach Paras Mhambrey, fielding coach T Dilip and other support staff will be meeting the NCA team headed by VVS Laxman to discuss various issues related to senior teams,” A BCCI source told PTI.
As reported by PTI, Ajinkya Rahane, who has been in a red-hot form, is likely to get a chance in the 15-member squad for the WTC Final. The Indian batter scored 61 off 27 deliveries to help his team cross the line. In his stint in the middle against MI, Rahane also broke MS Dhoni’s record as he notched the fastest fifty of ongoing edition.
