Dana White, the President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), has announced that Alex Pereira will defend his light heavyweight championship against Jamahal Hill in the headline act of the UFC 300. The landmark PPV event for the UFC is set to go down on April 13 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
In November of 2023, Alex Pereira became the ninth UFC fighter to win a championship in multiple divisions after he took out Jiri Prochazka at the UFC 295 for the light heavyweight championship. Meanwhile, Jamahal Hill last competed in January 2023, when he won the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship after a unanimous decision over Glover Teixeira, but after he suffered an Achilles tendon injury, he vacated his title.
After announcing the light heavyweight championship match between Alex Pereira and Jamahal Hill in the main event of UFC 300, Dana White spoke about the highly accomplished resume of both the MMA fighters on his X post. He captioned it, “BREAKING!!! The #UFC300 main event will be Pereira vs Hill April 13th from Las Vegas”.
In the co-main event of UFC 300, Weili Zhang will defend her UFC Women’s Strawweight Championship against Yan Xiaonan. Justin Gaethje will be putting his UFC Lightweight Championship on the line against Max Holloway at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on April 13.
Jiri Prochazka will also be in action at the UFC 300, competing against Aleksandar Rakic in the light heavyweight division to get a step closer to the championship contention.
