Allsvenskan 2022 is the 98th season of Sweden's top-ranked football league, which kicked off from April 2 and will end in November 2022. A total of 16 teams are participating in the Swedish professional league while Malmö FF come as the defending champions in the 2022 season.
Over the last five years, Allsvenskan is ranked 23rd across all leagues under the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), based on performances in European competitions. Allmänna Idrottsklubben (AIK), IFK Göteborg, and Malmö FF are considered to be the three largest clubs in Sweden from the three largest cities in Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö respectively.
The top 13 teams in the league continue their participation in the Allsvenskan next season while the bottom three clubs face relegation and are replaced by the top three clubs from the Superettan, which is the second-tier Swedish league.
