Fast bowler Dhawal Kulkarn i clean bowled Vidarbha's Umesh Yadav to help Mumbai win its record-extending 42nd Ranji Trophy title. Playing at the Wankhede Stadium, the Ajinkya Rahane-led side registered a dominant 169-run victory to end his side's nine-year trophy drought. Notably, this wicket came on the last ball of Kulkarni's first-class cricket as the speedster announced retirement last month.
Immediately as the final wicket fell, the Mumbai contingent rushed into the middle celebrating this historic moment. The team then embraced Kulkarni, celebrating his illustrious 16-year career for Mumbai. Moments later a video that has been making the rounds of social media, depicted an Indian middle-order batter and Kolkata Knight Riders captain Shreyas Iyer dancing in joy with his team. Shreyas Iyer celebrates Mumbai's 42nd Ranji Trophy title win
Iyer wasn't on the field on the last two days of the final as he reportedly re-aggravated his back injury and is set to miss the initial stage of the IPL. After a disappointing effort in the first innings, Iyer retaliated in the second with a 111-ball 95 as Mumbai set a 528-run target for Vidarbha.

Hats off for Tushar who gave the ball to me: Dhawal Kulkarni
After winning his fifth Ranji title, Dhawal Kulkarni thanked his fellow fast bowler Tushar Deshpande for giving him the chance to bowl despite picking up two quick wickets. Speaking in the post-match interview, Kulkarni said, "It's a cricketer's dream to start and finish on a high. This is my 6th final, 5th time we've won and this will be dear for me."
"It was an excellent gesture, I didn't expect (that Rahane would give him the ball to finish the game), but hats off for Tushar who gave the ball to me despite taking two wickets in an over. I've got experience as I've played with big stars, they've shared plenty of experience with me and I have passed the same to the younger lot."
