On Friday, May 10, Lucknow Super Giants’ Naveen-ul-Haq shared a picture with his captain KL Rahul on Instagram, accompanied by a “black heart.” Notably, after LSG received a thumping at the hands of SRH, the owner Sanjiv Goenka was quite agitated during a chat with KL Rahul, sparking controversy about the future of the star Indian player with the franchise.
The fans on social media voiced their displeasure at the LSG owner, Sanjiv Goenka, for not having such a conversation with their team captain KL Rahul behind closed doors. Since then, there have been rumours emerging in regards to KL Rahul not getting retained by LSG for the next season of the IPL among a few others.
For the unversed, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, Lucknow Super Giants managed to put 165/4 on the board in the previous IPL 2024 match after a poor first half of the innings, scoring runs at around six to the over. In the run chase, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma obliterated the LSG bowling attack, chasing down the 166-run target in just 9.4 overs, to hand SRH a comprehensive 10-wicket win.
After their demoralising defeat on Wednesday, May 8, Lucknow Super Giants haven’t posted any content on their social media channels, including Instagram and X, for more than a day, which is rarely the case. Although Naveen-ul-Haq took to his official Instagram account to share a post about LSG, keeping the fans in the loop about what might be going down inside the changing room at the franchise.
Lucknow Super Giants will be playing their next match in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday, May 14. A win in this contest could go a long way for either LSG or DC to make the IPL playoffs this season.
