The second consecutive defeat in the World Test Championship Final for Team India have fueled fans and enthusiasts on the team and the other members associated with the Men in Blue. Out of many such who have come into the radar, one is Team India head Coach Rahul Dravid.
The former Indian cricketer who was appointed as the Head Coach of the Indian cricket team in November 2021, after the team suffered a group stage exit in the ICC T20 World Cup, held in UAE. The Men in Blue suffered heavy defeats against Pakistan and New Zealand in the world event of the shortest format of the game. With improvements from there in sight, the team has failed to lift any ICC trophy under Rahul Dravid’s reign, extending the trophy for the Men in Blue.
Seeing this run continuing for more than a year now, fans went out loud to express their emotions. While some expressed their opinion to sack Head Coach Rahul Dravid from the position, a few others put comparisons between Ravi Shastri, the former India coach and Dravid. Some also opined that Justin Langer or Ponting to take over as coach.

Talking of Rahul Dravid’s stint with Team India, the Men in Blue suffered a Test series loss in South Africa, a group stage exit from the 2022 Asia Cup, a semi-final knockout in the 2022 World T20 and the most recent failure which came in the World Test Championship Final held in England, against Australia.
India’s next major challenge will be the 50-over Asia Cup and the ICC Cricket World Cup which will take place in August-September & October-November window. While the venue of Asia Cup 2023 is yet to be confirmed, India is set to host the ODI World Cup later this year.
