When Rashid Khan posted a video of himself practising in the nets on Instagram, captioning it “I’ve missed you,” Suryakumar Yadav had a heartwarming reply to it. The 33-year-old, who is ruled out of the upcoming T20I series for India against Afghanistan, stated he will miss Rashid Khan on the field, showcasing the great camaraderie between cricketers of both countries.

India is scheduled to play a three-match T20I series at home against Afghanistan, which could mark the return of Rashid Khan to the sport if he can recover from a back surgery recently. Although the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) have added their regular T20I captain to the squad for the series, his participation is still in doubt, which has led to Ibrahim Zadran being named the captain in the interim.

On the other side, Suryakumar Yadav, who had captained India to a 1-1(3) result against hosts South Africa in a T20I series last December, reportedly hurt his ankle in the third and final match. It led to him undergoing ankle surgery, which is why he is expected to return to training in a couple of months.
