MMA fighter Anshul Jubli created history by becoming the second Indian to get a UFC contract. Julbi defeated Indonesia’s Jeka Saragih in the Road to UFC final and bagged a contract in the lightweight division of the championship. Anshul joined Bharat Khandare as the only two Indians to be contracted under UFC.

Anshul wasn't the favourite and had an incredible to clinch the victory. The 28-year-old is from Bhatwari village near Uttarkashi and is the son of a retired Border Security Force (BSF) officer. Jubli moved a lot across different states due to his father's job. His family eventually settled in Dehradun after a lengthy period of relocation.
