Former Pakistani cricketer Basit Ali came in support of senior Indian cricketers including the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin after India’s recent 0-3 home Test series loss against New Zealand. The 53-year-old asked fans to be patient and not lose trust in heroes of the Indian cricket team. The fans have been buzzing over social media after India suffered a historic series loss against New Zealand.
Losing the home Test series after 12 years, India also couldn’t save themselves from the whitewash at home as the hosts lost the third Test by 25 runs in Mumbai. One of the main reasons for India’s series loss was a poor form of senior players like the skipper Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin. After this, fans have been asking for changes in the Test side by removing these players from the red-ball format.

In his latest YouTube video, Basit Ali asked fans to keep their faith in the senior players of the Indian team. “What they are talking about now is remove Virat, remove Rohit, remove Ashwin. Do you have any players of their quality? Will you bring Abhishek Sharma, a T20 player?” Basit was quoted as saying by Times of India.
"Apne heroes ko zeroes mat banao. We (in Pakistan) talk against Babar Azam, Shan Masood, Mohammad Rizwan, ; but we don't say that they should be out of the team. They will come back to form. But saying things like ‘end of an era’ that’s going a bit too far. Will cricket end if you don’t qualify for the World Test Championship final?” the former cricketer said
