Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr will battle it out against Al-Hilal on Saturday night at the King Fahd Stadium in the Arab Club Champions Cup 2023 final. The Saudi Arabian club, Al-Hilal is the most successful football club in Saudi Arabia, winning a record-breaking 19 titles in the Saudi Pro League, which is the top flight of football in the country. On the other side, Al-Nassr has changed drastically since Cristiano Ronaldo joined the team.
Al-Hilal lost just one game in the group stages, which was against Al-Sadd. After that, they emerged victorious against Ittihad Jeddah 3-1 in the quarter-final, and also against Al-Shabab in the semi-final with the same scoreline. Currently, they are the third most successful club in the Arab Club Champions Cup with two titles, and winning the final once more will take them to the joint-first position with a Tunisian club.
Having scored 18 goals across all competitions in just 24 games, he has been outstanding for the team. In the Saudi Pro League, he came close to leading the squad to victory but just missed and came in second. Al-Nassr finished second in the group stage of the Arab Club Champions Cup, narrowly behind rival club Al-Shabab, after drawing two games and winning one. As a result, they advanced to the knockout rounds, where they won 3-1 against Moroccan club Raja CA in the quarter-final and 1-0 against Al-Shorta in the semi-final. Cristiano Ronaldo will be desperate to get their hands on another coveted title by winning the final.
