Arsenal are reportedly preparing to bid for Real Madrid midfielder Arda Guler, 20, in the upcoming summer transfer window, to bolster their Mikel Arteta’s coached squad for the 2025-26 season in the English top flight. It is understood that the North London club are looking to make a bid of around £35 million to Real Madrid for Arda Guler, who is more of a target for them in comparison to the likes of Martin Zubimendi and Nico Williams.

Notably, Arda Guler hasn’t had much football on the pitch for Real Madrid since joining them in 2023 from Turkish club Fenerbahce, but he has been quite patient during his stay at the Spanish club. But recently, he fired back at the Real Madrid hierarchy, particularly at their President Florentino Perez, about his status at the club in regards to his playing time, stating that “I am not staying next year if Carlo Ancelotti remains” the manager.

Arda Guler might stay at Real Madrid if manager Carlo Ancelotti leaves the club

In the 2024-25 season, Arda Guler has gotten 1,170 minutes under his belt, but for a player on the rise in world football, it is far from enough to improve his skill in the heat of the battle. While the current contract of the Turkish international is set to run until 2029 with Real Madrid, his recent statement is a clear indication in regard to him looking for a move elsewhere, and Arsenal could end up being the next destination in his career.

But, at the same time, there are rumours swirling around in regard to Carlo Ancelotti’s future at Real Madrid, with him potentially looking to depart the club at the end of the ongoing season. This could turn out to be true if the head coach isn’t able to take the Galacticos to yet another UEFA Champions League (UCL) title, losing to Arsenal 3-0 in the quarter-finals at the Emirates Stadium in London with the second leg set to happen at the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid next week.
