India’s young pace sensation Arshdeep Singh surpassed Bhuvneshwar Kumar to become pacer with most wickets in T20I for India. Singh recorded the feat during the third T20I against South Africa on Wednesday, November 13, in Centurion. He dismissed Marco Jansen in the final over and helped the visitors record a 2-1 lead over the Proteas with a thrilling 11-run win. Singh ended the match with impressive figures of 3/37 in his four overs.
Not only this, but he also became the leading wicket-taker among Indian pacers as he surpassed veteran Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s record of 90 wickets. Arshdeep recorded the feat in only 59 matches, whereas Kumar had taken 87 games to reach the 90-wicket mark. The 25-year-old now holds 92 wickets to his name. He is now second overall in India’s all-time T20I wicket-takers list and trails only Yuzvendra Chahal. The leg-spinner has 96 wickets from 80 matches.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar: 90 wickets in 87 matches
Jasprit Bumrah: 89 wickets in 70 matches

Speaking of the match, Marco Jansen was India's one of the biggest scares as he smashed the fastest T20I fifty ever recorded against India. He reached the milestone in just 16 balls. Batting first, India had posted a massive 219/6, owing to Tilak Varma’s maiden hundred and Abhishek Sharma’s fiery 50. The Proteas failed to chase the total and fell 11 runs short in chasing another victory at home.
