The head coach of Gujarat Titans, Ashish Nehra, and the Director of Cricket, Vikram Solanki, are likely to join Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the sources close to SportsTiger have revealed. Both Nehra and Solanki have been with Gujarat Titans since their inaugural IPL season in 2022, but they are expected to leave the franchise very soon.
During their three-year association with Gujarat Titans, Ashish Nehra and Vikram Solanki took the franchise to the IPL final twice, winning the coveted trophy in 2022. But, the IPL 2024 campaign was far from ideal for Gujarat Titans, who finished in eighth place on the points table under their new captain Shubman Gill.
A source close to the latest developments around Gujarat Titans remarked to News18 that Yuvraj Singh could take over the head coach role ahead of the IPL 2025, “Lot of changes on the cards. Ashish Nehra and Vikram Solanki are highly likely to move on and discussions around Yuvraj Singh have already begun. Nothing is finalised right now but there could be some major changes in the coaching staff of the Gujarat Titans.”
Gary Kirsten, the mentor of Gujarat Titans, has already left them to join the Pakistan men’s cricket team as their head coach. Furthermore, the support staff members of Gujarat Titans, namely Aashish Kapoor, Naeem Amin, Narender Negi, and Mithun Manhas, could be looking at other options for themselves if they end up leaving the franchise shortly.
