Former India player Gautam Gambhir, who is known for his blunt remarks and straightforwardness was once again spotted losing his temper during the India vs Nepal clash in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. In the fifth fixture of the ongoing continental showpiece, the seven-time tournament champions and debutants came against each other on Monday, September 4. While fans and teams were looking forward to enjoying the game, rain played a spoilsport and covers were brought on for quite a few times.

The 2011 World Cup winner, who has never shied away from expressing himself and making comments, lost his cool on the fans. The BJP MP was seen talking on the phone, when he heard fans chanting 'Kohli, Kohli'. The former India great then turned around and showed his middle finger to them before walking away.

The shocking behaviour displayed by Gambhir got caught on the camera and went viral all over the social media in no time. However, this was not the first time when Virat Kohli fans targeted the cricketer-turned-commentator.

Both iconic cricketers got involved in a heated feud in the last edition of the Indian Premier League. The incident took place during the IPL match between Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants.  Since then, fans of the modern-day great have never left any chance to target Gambhir.

I can't hear anything about my country: Gautam Gambhir

Gambhir later issued a clarification on his action and said that what he did was targeted towards some fans who were raising anti-India things. Gambhir said, "What is shown on social media has no truth in it because people show whatever they want to show. The truth about the video that went viral is that if you raise anti-India slogans and speak about Kashmir then the person before you will obviously react and not smile and leave."

The 41-year-old added, "There were 2-3 Pakistanis there who were speaking anti-India things and things on Kashmir. So, it was my natural reaction. I can't hear anything against my country. So, that was my reaction."
