Indian squash player Abhay Singh, who secured a historic gold for India at the 19th Asian Games earlier today, teared up while singing national anthem during the valedictory ceremony. Singh defeated Pakistan’s Noor Zaman in the final match 3-2 to find a historic top podium finish for India in the continental showpiece.

In the videos doing rounds on social media, the 25-year-old squash star could be seen tearing up while singing the national anthem in the ceremony. Speaking of the match, the Indian men’s squash team consisting of Saurav Ghoshal, Abhay Singh, and Mahesh Mangaonkar made a stunning comeback in the game to clinch India’s second ever squash gold medal.
The Indian boys were trailing 0-1 after slumping in their first match but Saurav Ghoshal’s stellar comeback and then Abhay Singh’s win propelled India to win the yellow metal by defeating Pakistan 2-1. The final match between Singh and his Pakistan counterpart, Zaman started off on a fiery level, and got extended to the final match, which the Indian ended up winning.

The Indian squash rising star dedicated the win to the country and said that he will keep the celebrations low and enjoy the win by watching Manchester United's game. Singh was in conversation with RevSportz, where he said, "This one's for my country." Singh added that winning against Pakistan isn't really special as they are a better team and they should have won much before."
Speaking about celebrating the medal, Singh said, "Nothing tonight. Watching some football tonight. Manchester United plays at 10:00 pm, in bed after. Up for mixed doubles tomorrow morning."
