Gujarat Titans’ skipper Shubman Gill told English singer and songwriter Ed Sheeran to ask Shah Rukh Khan why KKR didn't retain him. Gill along with comedian Tanmay Bhatt joined Sheeran for a meal, where the singer revealed that he was going to meet Shahrukh Khan for dinner. Notably, the ‘Perfect’ singer was in Mumbai in March as part of the Indian leg of his world tour.
During his visit, the 33-year-old met Indian cricketer Shubman Gill and Tanmay Bhatt for a game of cricket as well as a meal. One video of their meeting has emerged, where Gill told Sheeran to ask Shah Rukh Khan why his IPL franchise, KKR, didn’t retain him. The youngster started his career with KKR in 2018 but was later released ahead of the 2022 auction. He then moved to Gujarat Titans and emerged as a batting star by aggregating 890 runs in 2023.

The ‘Shape of You’ singer joined Tanmay Bhatt and Shubamn Gill for a game of cricket during his visit to India. The singer shared a glimpse of the same on Instagram as well as YouTube. Sharing the video, Sheeran wrote, "Played cricket and had a chat with @shubmangill and @tanmaybhat when I was over in India, had a blast. They cut out the footage of me bowling badly. Full vid on YouTube (sic)."
Coming back to Gill, the young cricketer recently came up with a big score of 89* runs in GT’s clash against the Punjab Kings on March 4, Thursday.
