Premier League club Aston Villa announced the signing of Everton midfielder Amadou Onana ahead of the 2024-25 season. Villa were one of the best teams of the previous PL season where they finished fourth to seal a spot in the UEFA Champions League under Spanish manager Unai Emery.
The Belgian midfielder joined the Villans for a transfer fee of £50m after the Birmingham-based team sold their star midfielder Douglas Luiz to Italian club Juventus. Luiz joined the Biaconeri for £42.35m in June. Hence replacing the Brazilian, Aston Villa aggressively moved to bring in Onana alongside the arrivals of Ian Maatsen, Enzo Barrenechea, Samuel Iling-Junior, Ross Barkley, Lewis Dobbin, Cameron Archer and Jaden Philogene.
