The third Test of the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) series began on Saturday, December 14 at iconic Gabba in Brisbane. Like the previous two Tests, in the third Test also, Rohit Sharma-led Team India won the toss, but this time invited the hosts to bat first. However, the start to the third Test wasn’t the one which was expected, as it saw rain playing a spoilsport.

With fans hoping the two teams to play an epic contest, similar to the one nearly four years ago, Day 1 of the third Test was washed away with only 13.2 overs bowled into the day. The Australian scorecard read 28/0 after 13.2 overs, with more than two sessions being completely washed out while the umpires called in for early stumps, seeing no possibility of play in the day.

What is the weather forecast for Day 2 of AUS vs IND third Test?

With puddles around The Gabba in Brisbane, and only 80 deliveries of play possible, it is to be seen if there would be some game possible on Day 2 of the third Test. According to the forecast available on Accuweather.com, there remains forecast of thunderstorms in the coming week in Brisbane which could result in more days getting called off or play of the day being reduced due to adverse weather conditions.

Speaking of Day 2 of the third Test, the temperature is likely to be around 30-31 degree Celsius with showers predicted in the morning. Although, the probability of precipitation hover between 45-46 per cent, the weather overall is likely to remain cloudy and humid throughout the day.

During the second day’s play in Brisbane, there will be wind gusts of around 43 km/h during the day, which could help in blowing away some of the possible rain from the venue. But still, the fans might have to endure a few rain interruptions when Australia and India take on each other at the Gabba.
