Australian Women continued their domination against India Women as they wrapped the three-match ODI series by 3-0 with a 83-run win at WACA Stadium in Perth. Annabel Sutherland shone with a century as Australia posted 298/6 in their 50 overs. After that, Smriti Mandhana also scored a ton but didn’t get support from the other batters as India were bowled out for 215 runs in 45.1 overs.
Batting first, Australia Women got a start as Phoebe Litchfield (25 off 33) and Georgia Voll (26 off 30) put up an opening partnership of 58 runs in 10.1 overs. After that, the hosts went on to lose quick four wickets as the score was reduced to 78/4 in 16.1 overs. Fast bowler Arundhati shone with her bowling for India as she scalped four wickets. After that Annnabel Sutherland took charge of the innings and added 96 runs with Ashleigh Gardner for the fifth wicket.
Smriti Mandhana’s lone hundred couldn’t take India Women home
Ashleigh Gardner got out after scoring 50(64) runs with five boundaries, while Annabel Sutherland scored 110(95) runs smashing nine fours and four sixes. After that, skipper Tahil McGrath remained unbeaten on 56*(50) as Australia made a great recovery. For India, Arundhati Reddy registered figures of 4/26, while Deepti Sharma scalped one wicket. Chasing the winning total, India lost Richa Ghosh (2 off 8) early at the score of 16 in 4.1 overs.
After that, Smrit Mandhan and Harleen Deol put up a partnership of 118 runs for the second wicket. Harleen got out after scoring 39(64) runs, while Mandhana top scored with a knock of 105(119) runs hitting 14 fours and a six. Apart from that, none of the other Indian batter could score as India Women went down from 134/1 ro 215 all out in 45.1 overs. Ashleigh Gardner shone with the figures of 5/30. Apart from that, Alana Kings and Megan Schutt took two wickets each while Annabel Sutherland put one in her bag.
