Bangladesh pacer Tanzim Hasan issued an apology to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for his offensive posts he uploaded on Facebook in the past. As per the BCB official, the cricketer took full responsibility for the posts that recently went viral on social media and said that he is not a misogynist. Hasan made his international debut in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2023, and it was during this time that his Facebook posts dating back to 2014 caught everyone’s eyes.
However, as per the BCB official Jalal Yunus, the cricketer took full responsibility for the posts. Yunus said, "We will monitor him. His family is concerned too. They didn't expect such a situation. They are also sorry. We have given him a warning because he is a young player, and a World Cup is ahead. If he does something like this again, we will take action against him.”
Yunus added, "He said that the posts he has made about women, he takes full responsibility. He said that he is not a misogynist. We have warned him that if he posts something on Facebook in the future, the BCB will monitor him.”
Notably, back in 2014, when the cricketer was nearing his teenage years, he said on Facebook that Bangladesh's Victory Day, which falls on December 16, should not be celebrated. Not only this, but in 2022, he wrote in Bangla, "A working woman will not allow her husband or children to have their way with her; she loses her charm, destroys her family, her purdah, and the society."
