Nasir Hossain, the Bangladesh all-rounder, has made his return to professional cricket in the ongoing Dhaka Premier League (DPL) after serving a two-year ban for breaching ICC’s Anti-Corruption Code during the Abu Dhabi T10 league in 2020-21. The 33-year-old was banned in September 2023, which also included a six-month suspension, and after completing the entire criteria of the ban, he became eligible to resume his professional cricket career.
Notably, Nasir Hossain was one of eight people in connection with the Pune Devils team in the Abu Dhabi T10 league, who were charged by the ICC nearly two years ago. The Bangladeshi was charged for three separate offences wherein he failed to disclose to the designated anti-corruption official the gift receipt of $750 for a new iPhone 12, the full details of the approach or invitation to engage in corrupt conduct, and failed or refused to cooperate with him, as per the report from ESPNcricinfo.
