Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali slammed the Test team for their 0-2 series loss against Bangladesh in the recently-concluded two-match Test series. Ali labelled Pakistan’s performance in the series as “third-class”. Not only this, but he directly questioned Shan Masood’s captaincy and argued that his decisions allowed the rivals, including Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz in the second match to flourish and come up with a match-defining partnership of 165 runs.

Ali spoke on his YouTube channel and said, “It was a third-class performance. Pakistan lost the Test match due to captaincy. Captaincy played a key role in the way Litton Das and Mehidy performed after 26/6. There is no need for surgery. The Pakistan team has done surgery on themselves. Mohsin Naqvi should think about this. In the past six months, Pakistan has lost two big events.”

Tumhein aata hi nahi hai, tumse hota hi nahi hai: Former Pakistan batter Ahmed Shehzad to Pakistan Test team

Basit Ali was joined by several other pundits and former cricketers in slamming the Shan Masood-led side. Former batter Ahmed Shehzad took to X and shared a video saying, “Bhai tumhein aata hi nahi hai, tumse hota hi nahi hai (You don’t know how to do it, you are not able to do it.) What should I say?”

Unhone practice bhi aapke yaha ki hai, unke mulk ke halaat bhi sahi nahi the. Unhone aapko pyaar se kaha ‘ami tumake bhalobashi’(I love you in Bengali) Pyaar pyaar se hi unhone aapko whitewash kar diya. (They practised in your backyard. Conditions weren’t great in their country. They said I love you and whitewashed you with love.)”

Shehzad added, “Kya unhone cricket khela hai, kya unhone dominate kiya hai. Kis tarah ki unhone bowling ki hai, kis tarah ki unhone batting ki hai. Jo grit chahiye hota hai, woh unhone sikhaya hai bataya hai kaisi kheli jaati hai. Unke bowlers ne aapko bataya hai disciplined bowling kaise ki jaati hai.” (What kind of cricket they have played, the dominance they have shown. They way they have batted and bowled. They have shown what kind of grit is required and taught you what disciplined bowling is.”
